BIO

Miriam Mas, a Canadian artist born in Barcelona, began painting in her late twenties after moving to Ontario, Canada, in 1988. Using a basic oil painting kit gifted by her parents, she explored painting as a hobby before pursuing formal instruction through the Ottawa School of Art and Ottawa Continuing Education life drawing courses.

Gradually, Miriam developed a following of art collectors and has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions across Ontario and beyond. Her work spans figures, portraits, animals, landscapes, still life, and abstract compositions, capturing candid everyday moments and the beauty in life’s details.

Miriam has continued her professional work with CNIB Guide Dogs since January 2018, training guide dogs for children who are blind, while consistently painting during evenings and weekends. She looks forward to dedicating more time to her artwork in the future.

Miriam describes painting as her true passion:
“It is like a beautiful poem or rhyme that you can always look at and never tires you. I love the excitement of starting a new painting, the process of creating one, and placing the final strokes on the canvas.”

Currently, she is represented by Studio 87 Gallery, Perth, Ontario, and continues to seek opportunities to share her work with new audiences.
